Wreckage of missing IAF AN-32 found in Arunachal Pradesh’s Siang district
Itanagar: The wreckage of the Indian Air Force’s missing AN-32 transport aircraft has been found in Arunachal Pradesh’s Siang district. The aircraft had 13 persons on board, comprising six offices and seven airmen. According to reports, the wreckage was spotted by a Mi-17 helicopter.
The aircraft went off the radars after taking off Jorhat in Assam and was headed towards Menchuka Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) in Arunachal Pradesh near the Chinese border. It took off at around 12:30 pm and had the last contact with the ground at about 1 pm. Search operations were launched soon after.
